Well school is well underway. I am halfway into my semester. Halfway because of course I move in a month. So far my grades are Windows Infrastructure 100%, Linux 99% and English Comp 98.35. Actually my Infrastructure grade and Linux grades are estimates. I have extra credit for Infrastructure and all 100’s on my work so it’s more than, but because of the way she posts grades I can’t telly you exactly what it is. No extra credit for Linux, however I’ve gotten hundreds on my work so far I missed 1 on a quiz, so my estimate is 99%. My English grade is accurate.
I asked for Linux because I knew I’d need it. It’s interesting. We are supposed to be learning Fedora, however so far we have had the opportunity to play with not only Fedora 13, but Ubuntu, OpenSUSE, and Linux Mint (Olivia). She tries to bring one of the hundreds of different versions of Linux for us to use every week. I like Mint, I plan to VM Ware Fusion it and use it regularly. I also plan to VM Ware Fedora 13 on my husbands computer, to help me learn all the command prompts. Yes I said it… command prompts. Wonder what we will get next week.
Windows Infrastructure. Once you’ve met a Windows product they pretty much all work the same. The only different is the server-side of stuff, which isn’t all that difficult to use. We have been getting lots of practice with DHCP and DNS servers. The crossover between the two still confuse me a bit, but I am getting the hang of it.
I knew I wouldn’t like English Comp, I was right, I don’t. I don’t mind writing, but my teacher likes to cut points and not explain to me why. When I ask about it, it takes her a couple of weeks to get back to me. Not worth it over a couple of points, no, but I need to know what’s wrong in order to not repeat the mistake right?
I have a paper to write for Linux, I have chosen Ubuntu to write about. I also have a paper to write for English Comp, I have chosen Steve “The Woz” Wozniak. I have started both, and finished neither. I am preoccupied with the move and finding it hard to focus on the work at hand. I have a month to get everything all wrapped up and just in case I am without internet for a while. English not included, I have to figure out how to get that done regardless. That is how I will be getting my attendance so I have to do that move or not. And on time, not early.
That’s it, you now know what I sit with school, I’ll try to update you again on school in about a month, probably just before the move. BFN!
